Well ,

As you can see Orochimaru will have a very big role in boruto

The Reason is because

• Orocihimaru was not imprisoned after Shinobi World War 4
• Naruto allowed Mitsuki ( son of Orochimaru ) to study in ninja academy

When Naruto and Shikamaru realised that Orochimaru will help much to defeat Otsutsuki Clan ,They allowed him to remain in his hideout and continue research, in return Naruto allowed his son to study in Academy !

This comes into play in boruto anime when mitsuki arc is about to start

As you can see here they have united to investigate Otsutsuki clan !

So he will have a big role in boruto too !
